Country Inns & Suites By Carlson Improves Hotels Fitness Centers With New Equipment
Minneapolis, MN | April 20, 2009
Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM today announced plans to install a new generation of fitness equipment from Nautilus, Inc. and Life Fitness to upgrade the fitness experience for guests at its more than 450 properties in the Americas. New standards ensure that within four years, fitness centers at Country Inns & Suites hotels will feature Nautilus® or Life Fitness treadmills, elliptical cross-trainer machines and multi-gym units. Installation of the new equipment is already underway at many properties around the country.
"Because fitness centers are among the top five hotel amenities that guests deem important when choosing their hotel, we want to ensure consistent, high quality equipment at every property," said Jim Grimshaw, senior director, Brand Program Development & Standards for Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. "Nautilus and Life Fitness are premier fitness brand names that our guests trust to deliver the type of workout experience on the road that they would receive at their own gym. This, along with a new fitness center design currently being implemented, is a significant enhancement at Country Inns & Suites, offering a fresh, upgraded experience that sets us apart in the select-service category."
In addition to the new equipment standards, the fitness centers also incorporate a new interior design that includes black rubberized floors for added shock absorbency, a decorative splash wall with accent colors and modular framed art, and black or stainless steel convenience accessories.
